Celebrate American Wetlands Month!
- Programs and Events:
- Saturday, May 2nd - Chickenfest in Siler City 10am - 4pm Meet staff and learn about wetlands and the Watershed Protection Office
- Tuesday, May 5th - Fearrington Farmers Market 4pm - 6 pm Meet staff and learn about wetlands
- Wednesday, May 6th - Wetland Hike 1pm to 3pm at the White Pines Natural Area . Join educators for an up close wetland experience. We'll hike to a wetland along the Deep River and see what is living in and around the wetland. To register for the hike, or if you have a question, email phillip.cox@chathamcountync.gov
- Wednesday, May 6th - Siler City Farmers Market 4pm to 6pm Meet staff and learn about wetlands
- Thursday, May 7th - Pittsboro Farmers Market 3pm - 6pm Meet staff and learn about wetlands.
- Wednesday, May 13th - Meet a Wetland 3 - 5pm at the wetland in Briar Chapel. Learn about wetlands in a wetland! Drop by when you can and learn about local wetlands, participate with a scavenger hunt and meet a few of the local plants and animals. See the Flyer below for more details.
