Home MenuHousehold Hazardous Waste
Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) events are a safe way for residents to dispose of their hazardous materials. There are nine HHW events offered throughout the year- typically the third Saturday of the month from March through November. Events are from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm across from the Main Facility at 28 County Services Road, Pittsboro, NC 27312.
Decals are now required to use HHW events, except for residents who live in the town limits of Cary, Pittsboro, and Siler City. All residents will also be asked to show a driver’s license or item with the address of where the waste is coming from.
Residents of the town limits of Apex and Goldston that do not have a decal, are not allowed to use the HHW facility. Those towns have not agreed to help fund the HHW program; residents should contact their town government for assistance with their HHW materials. Town residents can pay the solid waste fee and purchase a decal if they would like to have access.
- Town of Apex- (919) 362-8676
- Town of Goldston- (919) 898-4441
Hazardous waste from businesses is NOT accepted at HHW events. Visit the Hazardous Waste from Businesses page for more information.
