TruAx Rental Fee: The rental fee for our TruAx no-till drill is as follows: $75 minimum (due up front), with a per acre charge of $10. For example, if a resident uses the drill on 4 acres, the minimum of $75 is due. However, if a resident uses it on 8 acres, the total due is $80. 

Out-of-county Rental Fee: If either drill is to be used out-of-county, the rental fee is $100 minimum (due up front) with a per acre charge of $12.

Why using no-till is important:
There are many benefits to using the no-till drill including:

• reduces soil erosion by establishing living ground cover
• improves germination of seed compared to broadcasting
• reduces labor required per acre
• decreases soil disturbance, which means healthier soil and has additional benefits:
  • increases water infiltration
  • decreases soil moisture evaporation
  • conserves and improves organic matter
  • improves soil structure
  • promotes biological activity

What you need to know before renting:

• The TruAx no-till drill requires a minimum of 30 horsepower to operate.
• The Haybuster 77C no-till drill requires a minimum of 35 horsepower to operate.
• Tractor operating the drill must have rear hydraulic hook-ups.
• Both drills are small enough to access smaller acreage but can still handle the big jobs. (TruAx is 5 feet wide while the Haybuster is 7.6 feet wide)
• Both drills can be used to seed cool and warm season grasses, legumes, small grains, wildflowers, soybeans and more.
• Our TruAx no-till drill has a native seed box.
• Neither drill can apply fertilizer. Please do not add fertilizer to the seed boxes.
• Drills that are returned damaged, excessively dirty, or found to have been used to spread fertilizers will be charged an additional fee.
