Chatham County is currently requesting applications for the following strategies. Requests for applications for other approved strategies may be released in the future depending on funding availability. Each award amount is based on available funds. Multi-year applicants may need to submit continuation applications and updated budgets, and funds will be disbursed as reimbursements for provided services. Learn more by watching this video.
Interested organizations must submit their funding application to chathamopioidsettlement@chathamcountync.gov by 5 P.M. on May 30, 2025.
Chatham County is requesting applications for the following strategies. Applications are available below.
- Early Intervention (up to $40,000 per year for up to three years)
- Programs, services, or training to encourage early identification and intervention for children or adolescents who may be struggling with problematic use of drugs or mental health conditions, including Youth Mental Health First Aid, peer-based programs, or similar approaches. Training programs that target parents, caregivers, teachers, school staff, peers, neighbors, health or human services professionals, or others in contact with children or adolescents.

- Evidence-Based Addiction Treatment (up to $110,000 per year for up to three years):
- Treatment for opioid use disorder that helps cover costs like co-pays, medications, and lab work for Chatham residents

Please complete this RFA Budget worksheet and submit it with your application. Q+A sessions on the RFA process will be held on May 7 from 9 -10 A.M. and on May 14 from 6 - 7 P.M. Questions may also be submitted to chathamopioidsettlement@chathamcountync.gov.
Background
The Chatham County Board of Commissioners approves an annual funding plan prior to the start of each fiscal year taking into account recommendations from the Sheriff’s Prevention Partnership on Controlled Substances (SPPCS).
Based on the approved funding plan, Opioid Settlement funds may be made available to private non-profit organizations or businesses to carry out work related to an approved strategy to address the overdose crisis, including recovery support services, recovery housing support, and naloxone distribution.
