Parker’s Ridge Park

Future 138-acre park located on Pea Ridge Road in the Moncure area. Construction of Phase I is anticipated to begin in early 2026. Planned amenities include an inclusive playground, a picnic shelter with an observation deck overlooking the pond, restrooms, a walking path around the pond, and a pump track.

Pokeberry Tributary Trail at the Park at Briar Chapel


Approximately 3,870 ft natural surface trail.

Walking trail wanders through floodplain, over tributary stream and upland forest type. 

Construction scheduled to begin in March 2026.

George Pauly Trail at Northeast District Park


Approximately 3,150 ft natural surface trail.

Walking trail will meander through wildflower meadow and successional hardwood forest.

Construction scheduled to begin in March 2026.

Deep River State Trail Feasibility Study


This study will explore the feasibility of developing a multiuse trail along the Deep River in Chatham County.

The study is expected to kick off in the Spring 0f 2026 and will include multiple opportunities for public input.
