StoryWalk® is a fun way for families to enjoy stories and the outdoors together! Take a walk along the trail and interact with the book as you go!
The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Vermont Bicycle & Pedestrian Coalition (VBPC) and the Kellogg Hubbard Library.
Chatham County Public Libraries maintains three StoryWalks® at locations across the County.
Chatham Community Library
Visit Chatham Community Library's StoryWalk®, located on the Central Carolina Community College campus in Pittsboro, on the 1 mile paved walking trail.
The Chatham Community Library StoryWalk® is made possible thanks to a collaboration between the Chatham Community Library and Central Carolina Community College. Funding for this project was provided through a gift from the estate of Christine and Edward Farnan.
Northeast District Park
Visit the Northeast District Park's StoryWalk®, located at 5408 Big Woods Rd, Chapel Hill, on the .25 mile paved walking trail.
Southwest District Park
Visit the Southwest District Park's StoryWalk®, located at 15124 Hwy 902, Bear Creek, on the .5 mile packed gravel walking trail.
Funds for the Northeast and Southwest District Parks StoryWalks® were provided by an LSTA grant. LSTA grant awards are made possible by funding from the federal Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) as administered by the State Library of North Carolina, a division of the N.C. Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (IMLS grant number LS-256834-OLS-24)
