Child Advocacy
The Child Advocacy Program provides outreach, education, and case management to abused children and their non-offending family members impacted by felony crime. This includes crisis counseling, court support, and referrals to needed community resources. The overarching goal is to minimize the negative effects that abuse and trauma have on each child by providing support and access to services that promote healing and recovery.
The program also provides comprehensive case management support to individuals and families affected by trauma, ensuring they receive consistent guidance, advocacy, and assistance throughout the legal process.
The Child Advocacy Program helps coordinate a multidisciplinary team comprised of various county agencies that offer support for individuals and families affected by trauma.
The Child Advocacy Program includes an abuse prevention component dedicated to teaching elementary and middle school students about safety and personal boundaries, using evidence-based child abuse prevention curricula.
