Chatham County has been selected to participate in the University of North Carolina’s Our State, Our Homes program to develop tools and resources to address local housing issues. This 18-month program presents an exciting opportunity to work with the Chatham community to identify housing needs in this county and develop housing policies focused on social and racial equity and opportunity.

The Team

A team of housing advocates from local governments, nonprofits, and developers across the county worked together on the application to participate and will be leading community conversations over the coming months. The team is composed of:

  • Lee Bowman, Legion Development, Principal

  • Rebecca Sommer-Petersen, Service Center Director, Salvation Army
