PITTSBORO, NC—Community members are invited to attend a Special Meeting of the Chatham County Board of Commissioners on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, in Pittsboro.

PURPOSE OF THE MEETING:

• Hold a public comment period to hear comments on the Proposed Enbridge Gas 28-mile Natural Gas System Expansion Project running through Chatham County.
• Vote to go into closed session NCGS 143-318.11(a)(4) to discuss matters relating to the location or expansion of industries or other businesses in the area served by the public body, including agreement on a tentative list of economic development incentives that may be offered by the public body in negotiations.

Individuals wishing to speak during the public comment session may register by completing the online speaker sign-up form. Each speaker will have up to two minutes to give their comments.

Those who do not wish to speak in person may submit written comments by emailing boc.clerk@chathamcountync.gov. Written comments received will be included as part of the meeting record and meeting minutes; however, they will not be read aloud during the meeting.
