PITTSBORO, N.C. — The N.C. Department of Transportation (NCDOT) is encouraging residents to help shape the agency's next 10-year transportation plan for 2028–2037 by providing input on transportation projects they believe should be prioritized.

NCDOT develops its State Transportation Improvement Program using data-driven analysis and local public input to identify projects that improve safety, reduce congestion, and support economic growth. Project evaluation and data scoring have been completed, and the first phase of funding decisions for eligible Statewide Mobility projects is complete. Projects that were not funded in the Statewide Mobility category will continue to compete for funding through the Regional Impact and Division Needs categories.

In addition, community members are invited to attend a public workshop to learn more about the prioritization process, ask questions, and submit written comments.
