PITTSBORO, NC—Chatham County will come alive with history, music, and community pride as residents and visitors gather for the Chatham Celebrates America 250 Community Celebration on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Agriculture and Conference Center. This free, family-friendly event invites people of all ages to take part in a day of exploration, entertainment, and shared heritage marking America’s Semiquincentennial.

Hosted by the Chatham Celebrates America 250 County Committee, the celebration brings together local culture and national history through hands-on activities, live performances, food, and interactive experiences designed to connect the community to the past, present, and future of the nation.

WHEN: Saturday, June 27, 2026 | 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

The event will kick off at 10:00 a.m. with an Opening Ceremony inside the Exhibit Hall. Chatham residents and visitors of all ages can enjoy the Classic Car Cruise-In from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Attendees can also browse indoor and outdoor vendors, food trucks, a pop-up thrift store, watch historical and heritage films, and enjoy local performers beginning at 10:30 a.m. A final performance by local bluegrass musicians from Bynum Front Porch will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

For the convenience of attendees, two shuttle stops will be available: one at the County Annex Parking Lot across from the Justice Center and one at Chatham Community College, Building 1. Shuttles will run from 9:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The first 250 people to present a completed passport will receive a commemorative gift. Attendees without a passport—or those who have not yet collected all six stamps—can pick one up at the event and complete it on-site.
