PITTSBORO, NC—Chatham community members of all ages are invited to enjoy nature and a night under the stars at "Mission to the Moon" Star Party. This family-friendly event is free and open to the public.

WHAT: "Mission to the Moon" Star Party

WHEN: Friday, April 24, 2026, from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m.

Siler City, NC 27344

"Mission to the Moon" Star Party is hosted by Chatham County Public Libraries and Chatham County Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources and is part of the Chatham Celebrates America 250 programming centered around America's Semiquincentennial. Attendees are encouraged to bring their America 250 passport to be stamped.

Attendees will enjoy star gazing and the wonders of nature in beautiful Northwest District Park in Siler City. The Star Party will also offer opportunities to engage in hands-on astronomy activities.

The NC Science Festival’s annual Statewide Star Party is made possible through the generous support of the NC Space Grant.

This is a wheelchair accessible event, and wheelchair-accessible parking is available.
