Wren Memorial Library Announces April Events and Programs

SILER CITY, NC — Wren Memorial Library invites residents of all ages to participate in a variety of engaging programs this April. From a book sale to learning about raising chickens, these programs offer learning, fun, and community connection.

Each April event will take place at Wren Memorial Library, 500 N 2nd Ave, Siler City, NC 27344.

APRIL_WREN_MEMORIAL_PROGRAMS• Kanopy Watch Club (Ages 18+)
When: Monday, April 6, 2026, at 4:30 p.m.
What: It’s movie time! Stream the chosen movie of the month on Kanopy (free with a library card), then come to Kanopy Watch Club on the first Monday of every month to discuss the movie with others. The movie for the April 6 meeting is I, TONYA.

• Backyard Poultry 101 (Families with older children and adults)
When: Thursday, April 9, 2026, at 4:00 p.m.
What: Participants will learn the basics of raising backyard chickens—housing, feeding, health, and care—in this beginner-friendly workshop presented by the N.C. Cooperative Extension–Chatham County Center. Backyard Poultry 101 requires registration – www.tinyurl.com/WrenLibraryPoultry101

• Friends of Wren Memorial Library $5 Bag Book Sale and Local Author Meet & Greet (All Ages)
When: Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
What: Don't miss the Friends of the Wren Memorial Library Book Sale! This sale is “fill-a-bag” for only $5. Bags will be provided. All items are in excellent condition. Admission is free and there are no buyer limits. Purchases can be made by cash, check, or credit card.
Community members are also invited to Wren Memorial Library’s first Local Author Meet & Greet in the meeting room. Residents can swing by to learn about each author's writing journey, pick up a copy of their book(s), and have it signed.

• K-Pop Fan Club (Families with children of all ages)
When: Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 4:30 p.m.
What: Attention K-pop fans – come join Wren Memorial Library and sing-a-long to K-pop music videos, answer trivia questions, try candy and more.

• Job Fair with West Chatham Area Chamber of Commerce (Ages 16+)
When: Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
What: Community members who are ready to enter the workforce or looking for a career change are invited to join Wren Memorial Library for a Job Fair. Local businesses will be on site to discuss their open positions, so attendees should bring their resumes, cover letters, and any other materials they want to share.

• America 250 Storytime with Siler City Police Department (Families with children of all ages)
When: Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.
What: Community members are invited to enjoy a special story time celebrating America 250 with special guests from the Siler City Police Department.

• Disaster Preparedness with NC Department of Insurance (Ages 18+)
When: Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at 4:00 p.m.
What: A disaster could happen at any time. Join the N.C. Department of Insurance to learn how to get ready and how to navigate challenging situations.

These programs highlight Wren Memorial Library’s ongoing commitment to providing educational, practical, and family-friendly opportunities for the community. Residents are encouraged to attend and participate.
