PITTSBORO, NC— Chatham County Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources is pleased to announce the launch of its newly redesigned website, created to enhance accessibility, improve navigation, and make it easier for residents to find information about parks, programs, facilities, and events across the county.

Parks&Recreation_New_WebsiteThe updated website is now live at www.chathamcountync.gov/parks-rec. The redesign reflects a resident-focused approach, organizing content based on how users typically search for information. Key improvements to the website include:

• Improved Site Structure: Clearly defined sections for Programs, Camps, Parks, the Arts Center, and Registration make information easier to locate.
• Streamlined Content: Outdated and redundant information has been removed, reducing the number of clicks needed to access essential details such as schedules, amenities, and registration links.
• Enhanced Accessibility: The site features improved mobile responsiveness, screen reader-friendly formatting, and consistent headings to support users of all abilities.
• Centralized Program Information: Residents can easily explore seasonal offerings, including youth and adult programs, camps, athletics, and more.
• Improved Navigation to Registration Tools: Direct access to registration and key resources allows users to take action quickly without navigating multiple pages.

“The new website reflects our commitment to better serving the community by providing clear, easy-to-find information about everything our department offers,” said Tracy Burnett, Chatham County Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Director. “Whether residents are looking to register for a program, explore a park, or stay informed about upcoming events, the redesigned site makes it easier to connect with us.”

Residents are encouraged to visit the new website to explore available programs, discover county parks and facilities, and stay up to date on upcoming events and opportunities. Residents who have frequently visited the Parks, Recreation, & Cultural Resources web pages may need to clear their browser’s history (Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, etc.) to see the changes and any saved or bookmarked pages would need to be updated.
