PITTSBORO, NC — Chatham Community Library will host NASA Solar System Ambassador Carol Trembath for a public program on the Artemis II Space Launch.

WHAT: Artemis II Space Launch Program with NASA Ambassador Carol Trembath

WHEN: Friday, February 6, 2026, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.

WHERE: Holmes Family Meeting Room at the library, located at 197 NC Hwy 87 N in Pittsboro.

The free event will highlight NASA’s upcoming Artemis II mission, which builds on the success of the uncrewed Artemis I mission launched in 2022. Artemis II will be NASA’s first crewed test flight of the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket and Orion spacecraft, demonstrating key capabilities needed for future deep-space exploration.

The Artemis II crew includes Commander Reid Wiseman, Pilot Victor Glover, Mission Specialist Christina Koch, and Mission Specialist Jeremy Hansen.

Carol Trembath brings more than 30 years of experience as an educator in several Michigan school districts. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Western Michigan University, a Master of Library and Information Science from Wayne State University, and a Master of Educational Technology from Michigan State University. Trembath is also a Michigan author, having published four books about Native Americans and an award-winning novel about Harriet Tubman. In addition to her work in education and writing, she is a water activist and environmental speaker.
