Winter Weather Affects Chatham County Government Operations

CHATHAM COUNTY, NC— Due to expected winter weather conditions, the following Chatham County Government offices will operate with the revised schedules:
Saturday, January 24, 2026
Solid Waste & Recycling
All 12 Collection Centers will close at 5:00 p.m.
Libraries
All library branches will close at 5:00 p.m.
Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources
Programs- All recreation activities are canceled.
Parks- All parks will close at 5:00 p.m.

Chatham County is currently under a State of Emergency due to the winter storm. The storm will likely impact County operations and services into next week, and additional information will be released as it is available.
Updates will be provided on the Chatham County information phone line at 919-545-8444 and
posted to the Chatham County website www.chathamcountync.gov and social media channels – Facebook, Twitter/X and Nextdoor. Residents are also encouraged to stay informed about the storm by monitoring www.readync.gov.
