Chatham County Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Announces February Programs

PITTSBORO, NC— The Chatham County Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Department announces fun and exciting programs throughout the month of February for people of all ages and abilities to enjoy.

Parks_Rec_Children_ArtFebruary programming includes hands-on learning opportunities for children, creative art classes for teens and adults, and specialized programs designed to bring people together through music, creativity, and shared experiences. From cooking and archaeology workshops to painting, stained glass, and mosaic projects, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Youth Programs provide engaging activities for children ranging from preschool through high school. Programs kick off with offerings like Cooking with Chef Arlena (pictured left), Snapology Archaeology Workshop, Girls on the Run, and Rock & Hide: Paint & Share Chatham County Rocks!

Art Programs throughout the month include classes like Sewing on Paper, Draw & Design Digital Valentines, Exploring Painting in Oil & Acrylics (multiple sessions), Stained Glass Workshop: Beginners (pictured right), and Drawstring Bag with Applique.

Specialized Programs for individuals with disabilities include Sound Unity Music Group for adults and Mosaic Birdhouses, an all-ages workshop perfect for families and individuals alike.

“February is a great time for our community to try something new and stay engaged during the winter months,” said Tracy Burnett, Director of Chatham County Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources. “We’re excited to offer programs that encourage creativity, learning, and connection for participants of all ages, whether they’re joining us for the first time or returning to a favorite class.”
