Chatham County Public Libraries Announce January Closures

CHATHAM COUNTY, NC — Chatham County Public Libraries announces upcoming closures in January for staff development, building maintenance, and observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

Friday, January 16: All Chatham County Public Libraries will be closed for a staff retreat, focused on strategic planning, team building, professional development, and fostering a cohesive culture across the library system.
Saturday, January 17: Chatham Community Library in Pittsboro will be closed for mandatory building maintenance, including a scheduled interior deep cleaning to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for all visitors and staff. Wren Memorial Library in Siler City will remain open during regular business hours, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Monday, January 19: All branches will be closed in recognition of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.

Library patrons are kindly asked to keep all borrowed materials in their possession during these closures. Chatham County Public Libraries appreciates the community’s patience and continued support as it works to provide a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for all.
