PITTSBORO, NC—Chatham County Public Libraries will celebrate the 20th annual National Friends of Libraries Week from October 19 through 25, 2025.
Chatham County Friends groups have provided support for quality programming, library materials including books and DVDs, new furniture, and staff training. In addition, the Friends have rallied countless times to advocate for adequate library funding.
Christy Bondy, Director, Chatham County Public Libraries noted that the week is a great opportunity for the staff and the library advisory committee to give the Friends groups a big shoutout for all they do to make a positive impact on Chatham libraries every single day.
“We want to invite Chatham community members to join their local Friends group and make a difference. Becoming a Friends of the Library member is a terrific way to make new friends of your own, give back to our community, and make your local library even better,” said Bondy.
The Friends are always looking for new members and volunteers. For more information about Friends of the Chatham Community Library, Friends of the Goldston Public Library, and Friends of the Wren Memorial Library, individuals may visit www.tinyurl.com/ChathamFriends.
