PITTSBORO, NC— Chatham County Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources is gearing up for its 16th Annual Trunk or Treat Fall Festival, a Halloween tradition that brings families together for an afternoon of festive fun. Costumes, candy, and community spirit will all be on display as participants celebrate the season.

The festival will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Southwest District Park (15124 NC-902, Bear Creek, NC). Admission is free, and guests of all ages can enjoy a wide range of activities, including pumpkin carving and painting, a hay hunt, seasonal games and crafts, bounce houses, a photo station, a costume contest, and more. Festival activities will run from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., followed by the highly anticipated Trunk or Treat from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
“This event has truly become a highlight of our fall season,” said Tracy Burnett, Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Director. “We love seeing the joy it brings to children and families, and we’re excited to continue the tradition for another year.”
There’s still time to get involved! Chatham County Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources is welcoming additional trunks for the event. Local organizations, businesses, families, and individuals are invited to decorate a vehicle and hand out candy as part of the celebration.
