PITTSBORO, NC— Chatham Community Library is excited to announce in-person computer and technology classes in September and October. Classes are free and open to the public. Registration is required except for drop-in sessions. Class descriptions and registration links can be found at

Drop-in Computer & Tech Assistance
Thursday, September 11 & October 9, 3:00 – 4:30 p.m.
Community members may visit the computer lab on the second Thursday of the month for one-on-one help with computer and technology questions. No registration is required.
Computer Basics, Part 1
Thursday, September 18, 3:00 p.m.
This class is designed for beginners. Participants will learn how to use a mouse and keyboard, identify parts of the computer, and understand the basics of how computers work.
Computer Basics, Part 2
Thursday, September 25, 3:00 p.m.
Participants will build on the concepts learned in Computer Basics, Part 1. Topics include file organization, basic computer maintenance and troubleshooting, and more. Participants should have prior basic computer experience.
Microsoft PowerPoint Basics, Part 1
Thursday, October 16, 3:00 p.m.
Individuals can learn the basics of creating presentations and slide shows using Microsoft PowerPoint. Topics include using slide designs and layouts, formatting text boxes, inserting pictures, managing slides, and more.
Microsoft PowerPoint Basics, Part 2
Thursday, October 23, 3:00 p.m.
Participants will build on the concepts learned in Microsoft PowerPoint Basics, Part 1. Topics include creating charts and tables, adding video and audio, working with transitions and animations, and more. Participants should have prior basic experience with PowerPoint.
