Chatham County Aging Services to Hold 2nd Annual Healthy Aging Expo on September 18

Post Date:07/29/2025 10:50 AM

PITTSBORO, NC - Chatham County Aging Services will hold its second annual “Healthy Aging Expo” on Thursday, September 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Chatham County Agriculture & Conference Center located at 1192 US 64 Business West in Pittsboro.

Designed to gather a wide range of aging subject matter experts in one building, the Expo aims to build upon the success of its inaugural event in 2024, where a capacity turnout of aging professionals and older adults convened in Chatham County.

“We are excited to announce the return of our Healthy Aging Expo,” said Ashlyn Martin, Chatham County Aging Services director. “The desire and demand for this event was overwhelming in our inaugural year, and we are prepared to take what we learned and apply it to a more streamlined experience in 2025. The goal of the Expo is to help older adults in Chatham County and surrounding areas live their best lives by empowering them with the information they need to reach their own individual goals. We also want to disseminate this information to our fellow aging professionals, who are always welcome to join us.”

The event will feature two interaction periods with vendors, a morning keynote address,  three session blocks of 45 minutes each, and lunch. There is no cost to attend, but registration is required. Registration is limited and will close once it is filled.
Beginning at 8:30 a.m., the Expo will open with a 90-minute period where attendees may visit vendors at the Resource Fair in the center’s main exhibit hall.  Wellness facilitator Rhonda Mack, will follow with the keynote address at 10:15 a.m. before the first session of the day at 11:15 a.m.

Lunch will be served at noon, providing an additional opportunity to interact with Expo vendors through 1 p.m. The event concludes with two additional sessions from 1:15-2 p.m. and 2:15-3 p.m.

Individuals may register in one of two ways. Registration forms, which can be filled out and returned to the front desk at Aging Services centers, are available at both the Pittsboro Center for Active Living (365 Highway 87 North, Pittsboro) and the Siler City Center for Active Living (112 Village Lake Drive, Siler City). An online registration option is available on the Aging Services website, www.chathamcountync.gov/agingservices by clicking on the “Healthy Aging Expo” tab and completing the fillable form.
