PITTSBORO, NC— Chatham Community Library, in partnership with Chatham Pride Alliance, is excited to announce a month-long back to school supply drive from August 1 to August 30, 2025. All donated items will be given to local educators in Chatham County.

According to a national survey of teachers, 93% of them spend their own money on classroom supplies.

North Carolina teachers spend an average of more than $1,300 per year of their own money on school supplies. Out-of-pocket spending on school puts an undue burden on educators who are already experiencing limited resources in schools. Help support educators in Chatham County by donating supplies throughout the month of August.
