DESCRIPTION:<p dir="ltr">In partnership with <a href="https://www.chathamcountync.gov/government/departments-programs-i-z/social-services#!/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Chatham County&nbsp;Department of Social Services</a>, Chatham Community Library will host a <a href="https://www.povertysimulation.net/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">poverty simulation</a> on Monday, August 3, from 9:30 am - 12:30 pm in the Holmes Family Meeting Room. This program is free and open to the public. <strong><a href="https://www.eventbrite.com/e/poverty-simulation-tickets-1990791786825?aff=oddtdtcreator" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Registration is required</a>&nbsp;</strong>and is capped at 70 participants.</p><p><a href="https://www.povertysimulation.net/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Community Action Network’s Poverty Simulation</a>&nbsp;is a&nbsp;a learning tool created as a way to help people understand the realities of poverty. During this facilitated, immersive experience, participants live the lives of families at the bottom rung of the economic ladder. Each family unit will have the stressful task of providing basic necessities and shelter on a limited budget during the course of four 15-minute “weeks” while interacting with community agencies and addressing various barriers.
