9/11 Memorial & Museum’s free Anniversary Digital Learning Experience

2026 marks the 25th anniversary of 9/11. A quarter century after the September 11, 2001 attacks, 100 million  Americans are too young to remember the day that changed our city, nation, and world forever. It is our shared promise to never forget so those born after 9/11 learn its significance and enduring legacy. As we commemorate this anniversary, a new generation will learn about the unimaginable loss we experienced and the inspiring stories of bravery, compassion, unity, and service that we witnessed, and have rippled through the decades.

The 9/11 Memorial & Museum’s free Anniversary Digital Learning Experience  program consists of a 30-minute film highlighting first-person accounts of the attacks and their aftermath, and the opportunity to connect with Museum staff in real-time through an interactive live chat. Available on-demand from your home beginning Friday morning, September 11.

After the film, you can also search and browse past Digital Learning Experience archives, featuring past years' programs and participants who share their first-person accounts of the attacks and their aftermath. The program will be interpreted in American Sign Language and captioned. An audio description, transcripts, and Spanish subtitles will also be available.

Access to the live event is available at 911memorial.org/DLE

This program is free and open to the public.

Residents may contact the library at (919) 545-8084 for more information on this and other events and programs.
