Chatham Community Library will offer free community learning sessions to help residents prepare for cardiac emergencies during September and October. The program will be presented by the American Heart Association and the members of the UNC Heart Club. Free and open to the public, but registration is required.
Hands only CPR and AED sessions will teach participants how to recognize cardiac arrest, efficient 911 interaction, perform hands-only CPR, use an AED, and how to act when help arrives. These learning sessions do NOT provide CPR certification, rather participants will leave with practical lifesaving knowledge and confidence to respond during a cardiac emergency.

- Thursday, September 24, 2026, at 1:00 pm in the Holmes Family Meeting Room
- Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 9:00 am in the Holmes Family Meeting Room
- Saturday, October 31, 2026, at 10:00 am in the Holmes Family Meeting Room
