The Chatham County Board of Commissioners will hold a Special Session on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at the Historic Chatham County Courthouse, 9 Hillsboro Street, Pittsboro.
The purpose of the meeting will be to hold a legislative public hearing to consider a temporary moratorium on the permitting of data centers, data processing facilities, cryptocurrency mining operations, and any other associated uses within the unincorporated areas of Chatham County, pursuant to N.C.G.S. §160D-107.
The Special Session will begin at 4:00pm.
Residents wishing to sign up to speak in person at the public hearing may do so by completing the online form or by emailing the Clerk to the Board Jenifer Johnson or calling 919-542-8200. If residents do not want to speak in person, they may submit their comments in writing by emailing the Clerk to the Board of Commissioners Jenifer Johnson and they will be included in the meeting minutes but will not be read aloud during the meeting.
