Chatham Community Library, in conjunction with the Kramden Institute, will offer a four-hour, hands-on "Computer Essentials for New Users" class on Thursday, January 29, from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm, in the Holmes Family Meeting Room.  This free class is designed for adults with little or no computer experience. Upon completion of this class, participants will receive a FREE refurbished laptop from the Kramden Institute.

In this class, participants will learn:

Computer Basics:

• Mouse and keyboard practice
• Using the Microsoft Windows operating system
• Using basic apps
• Saving, creating, moving, and deleting files
• Keeping your device updated

Essential Internet Skills:

• Connecting to Wi-Fi
• Browsing & searching the internet
• Using online forms
• Using strong passwords & keeping accounts secure
• Identifying & avoiding scams

• Learn what online & local resources are available after taking the class
