Author Event: Janine Latus

In recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Chatham Community Library, in partnership with Second Bloom of Chatham, will host Janine Latus as she presents, "We Need to Talk: Compelling strategies to recognize intimate partner abuse, intervene, and help yourself and others live healthy, loving lives" on Saturday, October 18, from noon - 3:00 pm in the Holmes Family Meeting Room. This program is free and open to the public.

Latus is the NY Times bestselling author of If I Am Missing Or Dead: A Sister's Story of Love, Murder and Liberation, a heart-wrenching journey of discovery as she traces the roots of her own — and her sister’s — victimization with unflinching candor. This beautifully written memoir will move readers from the first to the last page. At once a confession, a call to break the cycle of abuse, and a deeply felt love letter to her baby sister.

Fifteen free copies of Janine's book are available on a first come, first served basis and can be picked up at the library's front desk.

A reception preceding the program and book discussion will begin at noon. Light refreshments will be served.

Funding for this program is made possible with the generous support of the Friends of the Chatham Community Library.
