Chatham Community Library, in conjunction with the Kramden Institute, will offer a four-hour, hands-on "Computer Essentials for New Users" class on Friday, October 10, from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm, in the Holmes Family Meeting Room. This class is free and open to the public and is designed for adults with little or no computer experience. Registration is required: 919-545-8086.
Upon completion of this class, participants will receive a FREE refurbished laptop from the Kramden Institute.
In this class, participants will learn:
Computer Basics:
- Mouse and keyboard practice
- Using the Microsoft Windows operating system
- Using basic apps
- Saving, creating, moving, and deleting files
- Keeping your device updated
Essential Internet Skills:
- Connecting to Wi-Fi
- Browsing & searching the internet
- Using online forms
- Using strong passwords & keeping accounts secure
- Identifying & avoiding scams

6-10), an annual nationwide event dedicated to raising awareness about
digital equity and the vital importance of inclusion in our increasingly
